The Imperial County Film Commission, in conjunction with North County Coalition for the Arts, Ocotillo Wind Education Fund, Imperial Valley Community Foundation and California Arts Council, announced today that the feature film, “Future World,” will open the seventh annual Imperial Valley Film Festival and Artist Showcase. The festival will take place Friday, October 19 and Saturday, October 20 at the Imperial Valley Mall.

Activities for the Festival begin at 6pm Friday, with no-host cocktails and Art Gallery opening, followed at 7pm by our opening films.

Saturday activities start at 9am with competition blocks throughout the day. Industry workshops will be held at 11:30am and 2pm. Workshops are free and this year’s topics cover costume design and acting.

The festival will conclude with an awards ceremony at 9pm.
